Volunteer with Buddhist Fellowship

At BF, our volunteers are the heart of our community. Whether you’re supporting our events, helping behind the scenes, or simply being present for others — your contribution makes a real difference.

Volunteering is also a path to personal growth. It offers a chance to cultivate generosity, build spiritual friendships, and serve the Sangha.

Volunteer Roles Available

We welcome volunteers from all walks of life. Here are some areas you can serve:

Our Commitment & Code of Conduct

Anchored in Dhamma. Guided by kindness. United in service.

At Buddhist Fellowship, our volunteer culture is built on mutual respect, fellowship, and spiritual integrity. We believe volunteering is more than just helping out — it’s a practice of generosity (dāna), mindfulness, and compassion in action.

 Volunteer Code of Conduct

As a BF Volunteer, you are a representative of the BF and a reflection of our values. We ask that you uphold the following principles:

1. Be Present and Reliable

  • Arrive on time and inform your coordinator if you are unable to attend.

  • Carry out your duties mindfully and with care.

2. Serve with Kindness and Humility

  • Be courteous and respectful to all — members, guests, monastics, and fellow volunteers.

  • Avoid gossip, complaints, or harsh speech.

3. Work in Harmony with the Team

  • Collaborate with patience, openness, and team spirit.

  • Follow instructions from team leads and coordinators with a positive attitude.

4. Respect Boundaries and Confidentiality

  • Maintain discretion when handling member information or sensitive matters.

  • Do not engage in disruptive behavior or giving personal advice to public unless invited.

5. Uphold the 5 Precepts While Volunteering

  • Refrain from killing, stealing, sexual misconduct, false speech, and intoxicants.

  • Maintain speech and behavior that reflect Buddhist ethical values during your service.

6. Dress and Act Appropriately

  • Wear modest and respectful clothing suitable for temple or spiritual events.

  • Avoid strong perfumes, revealing attire, or overly casual wear like short shorts or tank tops.

7. Receive Feedback with Openness

  • Be willing to listen and learn — feedback is part of spiritual and personal growth.
