BF Volunteer Code of Conduct
As a volunteer of the Buddhist Fellowship (BF), you are expected to uphold the values of compassion, integrity, and respect. By committing to this Code of Conduct, you contribute to a positive, harmonious environment where we can all work together to support the Dhamma and the community.

1. Respect for Others

Treat all individuals (fellow volunteers, staff, community members, and participants) with kindness, respect, and compassion.

Be mindful of cultural, religious, and personal differences and promote inclusiveness in all activities.

Refrain from discrimination or harassment of any kind.

2. Responsibility and Commitment

Fulfill your volunteer commitments with dedication, punctuality, and reliability.

Notify the volunteer coordinator in advance if you are unable to fulfill your assigned responsibilities.

Be accountable for the tasks assigned to you and perform them to the best of your ability.

3. Integrity and Honesty

Represent the Buddhist Fellowship with honesty and uphold its values and mission.

Avoid any conflicts of interest or situations that may harm the reputation of BF.

Respect the confidentiality of sensitive information about participants, volunteers, and BF activities.

4. Teamwork and Collaboration

Work cooperatively with other volunteers, staff, and the community.

Be open to receiving feedback and assist others where needed to achieve common goals.

Communicate openly and professionally with team members.

5. Appropriate Conduct

Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times.

Dress appropriately for volunteer activities, adhering to BF’s standards for modesty and decorum.

Refrain from using offensive language, engaging in inappropriate behavior, or promoting personal agendas.

6. Commitment to the Dhamma

Embody the teachings of the Dhamma in your actions, behavior, and attitude.

Promote mindfulness, patience, and compassion while performing your volunteer duties.

Respect the spiritual nature of BF and its community.
​
7. Health and Safety
-
Ensure a safe environment for all by following BF’s safety guidelines and procedures.

Report any health, safety, or security concerns to the appropriate staff members immediately.

8. Conflict Resolution
-
Approach any conflicts or disagreements with a calm and mindful attitude.
-
If a conflict arises, seek assistance from the volunteer coordinator or relevant staff to mediate and resolve the issue.

Agreement
By volunteering with Buddhist Fellowship (BF), I agree to uphold the values and principles outlined in this Code of Conduct. I understand that failure to adhere to these standards may result in my removal from the volunteer program.
